A little over a year ago I could not walk more than 50 feet and weighed 390
pounds. By following a healthy, albeit rigid, eating plan with my doctor and
incorporating exercise into my life, I have been able to lose 235 (yes 235 lost)
in the last 14 months. I have 20 more to reach my goal weight. Before anyone
gets concerned over how fast the weight loss has been, I have never felt better in
my life and my doctor is completely thrilled about the positive changes in my
health.
I have to credit Leslie's WATP program with much of my enthusiasm for exercise and
my ability to get out and move. By having an easy-to-follow program I could use
at home in short segments, I was able to build up my endurance.
The videos are so easy to use and don't make you feel like you are killing yourself, and the best part of all you can use them in your home without worrying about the weather or people watching you. I am telling you that I could not have done this without the videos, period. I am continuing to walk 5 miles a day at least 5 days a week and feel great. I am not so tired anymore, and my bouts of depression aren't as frequent because I feel so much better when I walk.
I found what kept me going was having small goals to reach on my way to the big goals. Like getting to my wedding weight of 156 and a size 12, to getting to 142 the 100 pounds lost mark, then to finish it up at the weight I was when I was 17 years old and met my husband at 132lbs again! Thank you Leslie for your work out videos and for how motivating you are in them. When there were days when I thought I just couldn't go on, you were there to get me to the end of the workout.
I am now only 8 pounds away from my goal weight and feel confident that I will reach and even surpass that goal with ease. I have lost 39.2 pounds so far, gone from a size 16 to a size 10! I can keep up with my boys, run up and down the stairs, I no longer take any prescription medication. For the first time in my life, I can wear cute shoes and I have calf muscles! My feet have always hurt too badly to wear anything that was cute, I wore sneakers every day and I hated that. I feel great and can't wait to climb those pyramids in Mexico!
I am very anxious to have the cholesterol re-checked (I have put if off, but now I am ready!) but I know the blood pressure is down to 120/60 when it had been 160/80 not too awful long ago. My relationships have improved with my husband and children; and even with people at work. Every time I hear "I've got anew attitude" I smile and say, "Yes, I do, thanks Leslie!"
